
I only learned later that this action was inconsistent with TAP's own internal policies. When I went to the airport to check in with TAP, TAP staff denied me boarding because they did not believe my visa was valid. The Consulate also said that they, not the airlines, have the sole authority to determine the validity of the visa. The Consulate told me it's valid and said they have been doing so for ten years. At the time of visa issuance, the printer of the Consulate was not functioning, so part of the visa information was hand-written, but it was properly signed and stamped. DO NOT TRAVEL WITH THEM! I had a valid Schengen tourist visa issued by the Consulate of Portugal. TAP completely ruined my birthday trip that I have saved up for a long time for. I felt pushed aside, embarrassed, and belittled by multiples employees. nor did it make us wants to fly on American again. I was so stressed out to begin with and this deffinately didn't help. I ALWAYS have the proper documentation as does my husband and we have never ran into this kind of disappointment and embarrassment from any airline until now. she then proceeded "no they are not they are not even listed on this flight" at this point I'm EXTREMLY embarrassed because people on the plane are paying attention and drawing attention to us but not only that. we peoceeded again to explain for the seventh time that they were emotional support animals. Fast forward AGAIN to sitting on the flight the flight attendant comes over and says "guys where's you carrier the dogs need to be under the seats". They let everyone on the plane and still made us stand there and finally said "just go but your dogs aren't on this flight". in front of a bunch of people in line, out of breath, and now embarrassed I am forced to take out my folder and give them all the paperwork I had just given to the customer service desk before our first flight. We ran from one gate to the next hoping we wouldn't miss our flight and when we got there they wouldn't let us on the plane saying things like "your dogs are not on this flight" "there is no documentation" "well then you must not have the right paperwork". This now only made our 50 min layover in DC 20 min by the time we landed. Fast forward to finally getting to the gate after being stressed and our flight was delayed. Brought to the airport and sit had to sit at the counter like the girl didn't know what she was doing. She reiterated to me that we needed in addition to the letterhead from the doctor a form filled out (which we both did ).

When I called to tell them over the phone we would have our emotional support animal I got an attitude as if I hadn't been doing this for the last 4 years. I have anxiety to the max about it & my husband gets ulcerative colitis flare ups any time he's stressed out which is usually while we fly and having our dogs with us turkey makes us feel better. I travel with an emotional support animal as does my husband because we don't do well with flying. the rest of the four are completely useless, i eventually told my wife to board with our daughter so they have the time to sit and prepare food etc and pull things they will need durimg flight Andi waited on this last staff person at the gate until she gave me the tag to the stroller and boarded later First meal they said either fish or beaf meat balls, i like both and no problem, but the crew said no fish anymore so you you will take beaf, OK Luckily neither my wife or daughter ate it Because after I ate it, 3-4 hrs later, I had the worst stomach pain ever and was in pain the rest of the flight and the remaining of the day after we landed FYI I ate just crackers and like all bread sandwiches all morning and was completely fine- just the beaf meat balls either not cocked or remains of non good beaf and other things- horrible food"Ĭons: "From the get go it was an awful experience.
